The Bowmen of Gower is an archery club open to people of all abilities. We shoot target archery outdoors during the summer and indoors during the winter. Our target archery range is at Ashleigh Road, Swansea. We also shoot field archery in the fields and woodland surrounding Weobley Castle on Gower.
We have an open mind when it comes to what people want from archery. For those who just want a pleasurable pastime we are very welcoming. For those more competitive we offer coaching and encouragement. Please visit the club website.

Field archery has been a strong element in the archery experience at the Bowmen of Gower for many years. We are one of the very few target archery clubs in the UK which has its own field archery course. Field archery really took off at the club when we hosted the Australian Field Archery team in 2008 who were taking part in the World Field Archery Championships at Pentref, South Wales.
In 2018 we moved the field course from Three Crosses to Weobley Castle and with the help of a Sports Wales grant set out a permanent 12 target course.
What Archery GB has to say: “Field Archery is a hugely important part of archery, offering a very different experience to the participant than the more common target archery. It has long been identified as a unique and exciting development opportunity for Archery GB, but until now its full potential hasn’t been fully explored.”
“For those that haven’t tried it, field archery is like the cross country of archery and is often set in the most interesting of locations, across all kinds of terrain including fields, woods and forests.”
“At an international level, Field Archery is very strong, particularly across Europe.”
